Subaru Confirms 3 New Models and a Hybrid

Subaru has unveiled their "Motion V" plan to be completed in 2016. This plan involves the production of 3 new vehicles. One of them is the Toyobaru sports car, in collaboration with Toyota. It is similar to the classic 2000 GT with a short rear end and a low front end. It has a lengthier hood and combined with other design elements it has a modern Batmobile look. It was on display now at the Geneva Motor Show. The car looks sophisticated, aggressive, and modern. It is as wide as the current Subaru Impreza STI but shorter in height and…

Toyota and Subaru Product Sharing

Toyota is studying how to more closely converge its products with Subaru, and might share its next-generation Highlander midsize crossover platform with the Tribeca. The two have similar dimensions, notes a source familiar with the tie-in.

As always with Subaru, the sticking point is how to share a platform that would use a longitudinally mounted boxer engine, in the case of the Tribeca, with a transverse-mounted engine, as in the Highlander. The platform also will have to accommodate a hybrid version of the Highlander, and it's a good bet the system would be adapted to the Tribeca. More info…

Subaru High Mileage Club

Have you ever heard of the Subaru High Mileage Club? Neither had we until we came across a story of a Subaru owner who accumulated over 600,000 miles on his Subaru! The Subaru High Mileage Club is a forum for owners of Subaru vehicles that have gone over 100,000 miles with no major mechanical failures. Subaru Forester, from 2010 to 2011

More than two full decades have passed since the company's engineers seriously sat down to re-examine the 2011 Forester engine's architecture, and in that time, there's been an explosion of automotive technology geared toward squeezing every last bit of energy out of a drop of gasoline. With fuel economy and emissions standards growing tighter by the day, the minds at Fuji Heavy Industries, Subaru's parent company, unveiled the third- generation of their boxer engine recently.

But what's the big deal? The horespower, torque, and fueld economy figures are all within a hair of the 2010…

What attracted you to your WRX?
I have a 1 1/2 hour commute to work each way, and I discovered that my drive is much more tolerable (enjoyable, even) if I had a car that was a real "driver's" car. Something that had personality. And was quick! So I looked for something fast and affordable. I also needed decent gas mileage. As a car enthusiast, I already knew about the WRX and right…

Free Subaru Battery Testing at Performance

At Performance Subaru, we want to make sure that our customers drive away in a safe car... and can keep driving long after they leave our lot.

Since batteries cause 60% of all problems in a care, we thought it would be wise to encourage our customers to have their batteries checked. The main duty of a car bettery has always been to crank the engine and in this respect, the conductivity check is useful. In newer vehicles, however, starting the engine is less of a concern. The importance of the battery is shigting to steering and braking. With these…
