What is the Subaru Love Promise?

Subaru and our retailers believe in making the world a better place and the Subaru Love Promise is our vision of respecting all people. This is our commitment to show love and respect to our customers and to work to make a positive impact in the world.

The Subaru Love Promise Community Commitment

We believe in being a positive force in something bigger. And it all starts right here in our community. Not just by our donations, but by our actions.

That's why we stay true to our Love Promise Community Commitment by partnering with a wide variety of community nonprofits and charities.

Every year, we join hands with our owners in the "Share the Love" event, giving back to our community-a community that's given so much to us.

So, every day, we strive to ensure our love is felt not just by our customers, but by all in our community. We do this because we feel it is the right thing to do.

We are proud to participate in the Love Promise Community Commitment. We're grateful, not only to be a part of our community, but to serve and support the causes and passions that are closest to our hearts, right here in our neighborhood.

All of the organizations we support have one thing in common: the unwavering dedication to improve the world and the lives of its people.

Pets

Whether they live in our homes or in the wild, Subaru is committed to keeping all animals safe and healthy.

A partner since 2008, Subaru has donated close to $14 million to the ASPCA and helped support nearly 1,000 pet adoption events, resulting in more than 11,500 adoptions to date.

Environment

Loving the environment means more than loving the great outdoors. It means working to preserve it.

Over a decade ago, Subaru became the first U.S. auto manufacturer to become zero-landfill, and now, in collaboration with the National Park Service and the National Parks Conservation Association, Subaru is leveraging that same environmental expertise to help the National Parks reach zero-landfill too.

Community

In a perfect world, hunger would be history and hope would be commonplace. We believe a perfect world is possible.

Subaru and Meals on Wheels America worked together to make volunteering easier, by launching a tool called the Meals on Wheels Online Volunteer Drive.

We should all have a chance to lead a healthy life. We’re aiming to give as many people that chance as we can.

Special Delivery to Leukemia and Lymphoma Patients  –  Carla T

Special Delivery to Leukemia and Lymphoma Patients

On June 14, 2017, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society staff teamed up with Performance Subaru to deliver a total of 80 blankets to patients at the Duke Raleigh Cancer Center, The Caring House in Durham, and the Duke Cancer Center in Durham. Subaru associates Jill McCullough and Anna Latta joined us to present twenty of the blankets at Duke Raleigh. Dr. Stephen Tremont, Mairead Alcorn, Jennifer Loftis, and Sara Syvinski were very happy to receive the blankets. Our next stop was the Caring House, where we helped Subaru present thirty blankets to patients, including patient Patsy Hoglen. Caring House staff member Sasha Zabavin was happy to receive the other blankets on behalf of Caring House. We completed our Duke deliveries at the Duke Cancer Institute in Durham, presenting Dr. Joseph Moore, Tina Piccirilli, and Karen Butler with thirty blankets. Dr. Moore shared how grateful he is for the impactful work of LLS and the generosity of Performance Subaru.

Supporting Veterans and Their Families!  –  Joseph E

Supporting Veterans and Their Families!

Veterans Count, a program of Easterseals, NH, provides emergency financial resources to veterans, service members and their families when no other resource is available in order to maintain their health, dignity and over all well being. This year, for the second consecutive year, Belknap Subaru chose Veterans Count as their “Hometown Charity” as part of their Subaru Share the Love program. The money donated will allow Veterans Count to offer a hand up to our brave service members and their families. Through a one-of-a-kind Care Coordination model and the generosity of Belknap Subaru, we are able to fill in the gaps between what our veterans receive in services and what they deserve. Some examples of what our services can provide are, gas cards to assist a veteran getting to and from work, a security deposit for a soldier at risk of being homeless, and one-on-one case management and support to ensure that those who deserve it can access and maximize their VA benefit. None of our services would be accomplished without our community partners like Belknap Subaru.

What a salesperson should be like  –  Cosby W

What a salesperson should be like

Back in late 2002, my wife and I decided it was time to purchase a Subaru because of it's safety and reliability. The vehicle was to be my wife's, so she was the one spearheading the search and trying to talk to anyone about it. We went to four different dealerships. The first three, each salesperson listened to what she would say, but then talk to me. None of them even knew what they were talking about when it came to the Forester. Then we walked into the fourth one and met Fred Flack. My wife's speech started as normal, and when she finished he turned to me, shook my hand and said it's nice to meet you, but if you want to walk around and browse I need to work with your wife. We knew we were buying a car that day right at that moment. Fred talked to my wife like a person, he listened to her concerns, knowledgeably answered her questions, and showed her what she wanted to see and not what he wanted to show her. He didn't sell the typical "female" features of the car, because she didn't care about them. When they were done, we did in fact drive off in our new 03 Forester, and that started our relationship with Fred. Since then, when we felt it was time to get a new Subaru, we would call Fred and give him the basics then meet him and fine tune what we wanted. With the exception of some personal sales, all of our Subaru's have been bought from Fred. In total, we've bought six different Subaru's from him since 2002. Thanks Fred, you made this possible.

Performance Subaru supports Meals on Wheels  –  Matthew S

Performance Subaru supports Meals on Wheels

Performance Subaru partnered with Chapel Hill/Carrboro Meals on Wheels [CHCMOW] in 2014 at the $5000 level, becoming the first ever wheels sponsor, ensuring seniors in southern Orange County had daily hot nutritious meals. CHCMOW also benefited from the annual Subaru "Share the Love" event, receiving $2500 in donations. Local and national publicity has not only helped raise awareness of the need to provide nutritious meals to Orange County seniors, but has also helped raise thousands of dollars used to purchase food and provide delivery transportation. 7th Annual Performance Subaru Charity Dog Show  –  Kelly S

7th Annual Performance Subaru Charity Dog Show

The Performance Subaru team loves the thriving community we live in. While we enjoy providing outstanding customer service on all things Subaru, we also excel in helping out organizations and charities in fun and innovative ways. We recently held our 7th Annual Performance Subaru Dog Show, which was a huge success! Taking place January 10, we were able to raise $2,000 to benefit the guaranteed-adoption center Paws4ever. We would also like to thank all of the dogs (and their owners) who participated in our 7th Annual Dog Show. It seems safe to say that everyone in attendance had a blast! Freckles was the Best in Show winner, receiving a $100 grand prize. We would also like to congratulate the following winners who also received $50 prizes: "Best Small Dog" Freckles, "Best Big Dog" Randolph, "Best Costume" Bee Bee, "Owner Look Alike" Cory & McKensie.
